This is two of the drafts I made for the front cover of my South Bank brochure. I chose the colourscheme to be blue and white, because I believe the blue really captured the essence of the Southbank being near the river and white made the blue stand out more and complimented the blue rathar than clash with it. The colours used can appeal to a wide variety of people, as the colours are quite versitile. I chose the London eye as my main image as it is a well known landmark of London and will be recognised by lots of people. The type of font used is quite basic yet bold and is quite fluid and curved.
The other draft for my southbank brochure is colourful and eyecatching and captures the more modern and contemporary feel of the creative side of the Southbank such as The Hayward Gallery. The colours despite their brightness work well in complimenting each other and manage not to clash. I chose to leave some bits of text in white as these will stand out amongst the colour such as when the leaflet is dated from Jan-March 2011.The way I coloured in the front cover makes it look like a piece of sculpture in The Hayward gallery which is what i want my target audience to think when they pick up the brochure is to associate it with a piece of art. The font type used is quite bold and straight with little curves to try and replicate the sharp and straight edges of some sculptures.
